DMK has been a leader in designing and permitting marine projects throughout the Gulf of America, the Intracoastal Waterways, and the rivers of Southwest Florida. Our team brings deep experience with projects beyond the Coastal Construction Control Line, along the general permit line, managing the 30-year erosion control line, and helping to protect Florida’s aquatic preserves.

LID (Low Impact Development)
Low Impact Development (LID) is a way to manage stormwater by mimicking how water moves in natural, undeveloped areas.
LID helps save water, lowers the risk of flooding and pollution, and protects natural ecosystems. LID works together with green infrastructure, which uses natural spaces to create habitats, prevent flooding, and improve air and water quality. This approach brings nature into city planning and stormwater control.
DMK created the first complete Low Impact Development project in Southwest Florida. They followed Sarasota County’s new LID Manual and met the strict rules set by the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
LID and retrofitting can help undo long-term environmental damage by:
