- Terrain modeling - Create digital models of topography.
- Corridor modeling - Create dynamic corridor models for government highways and public roads.
- Intersection design - Create dynamic models of 4-way and 3-way (T-shaped) intersections, as well as roundabouts.
- Interoperability - Civil 3D supports import, export, and links with commonly used CAD formats, and connects with Esri ArcGIS and Bentley data.
- Quantities and materials - Create earthwork volume reports by comparing existing and design surfaces. Use materials and sectional or profile information to determine the quantity takeoff.
- Pressure pipe networks - Horizontal and vertical pressure network designs; model deflected-curve pipe segments and use design and depth checks.
- Plan and construction documentation - Quickly create construction documents from drawings, including plan/profile, and cross-section sheets.
