This project is located in Sarasota County’s Lakewood Ranch Development, providing a new fire station to the east of I-75, within 1.5 miles of the rapidly growing community. The project consists of one doublewide bunkhouse, a two-bay metal building, with onsite parking and maintenance area.
DMK has been hired to redevelop three parks in the Charlotte County area: Englewood East Park, Deep Creek Park, and Rotonda Community Park and Preserve. The parks will be redeveloped to serve the public better.
Englewood East
The redevelopment of this Park will replace the basketball Court and Playground areas while adding new bike paths, additional walkways, and a water fountain. Community information was requested, gathered, and put into the design. Permitting through Charlotte County is in progress—digital rendition of the proposed playground below.
Deep Creek Park
Currently in the process of gathering public information. At this time, a new basketball court, a new soccer field, new covered areas, and additional walkways are planned.
Rotonda Community Park & Preserve
Future gathering of public information will occur. At this time, a new pickleball court, a new multi-purpose field, new covered areas, expansion of the playground area, and additional walkways are planned.
The GIBA Administrative, Maintenance, and Bridge House buildings were water-damaged as a result of Hurricane Ian.
DMK is providing:
Schematic Design and Project Research
Civil Engineering Design Services
Construction Plans and Specifications
DMK is providing services regarding design, permitting, and construction support for a proposed parking lot.
DMK will perform a boundary, topographic, and tree survey and site-specific existing conditions, such as adjacent right-of-way areas. This survey will also include the mapping of any visible above-ground encroachments either way across the limits of the specified project area.
DMK will locate visible above-ground site improvements, utilities, and appurtenances.
On this Park project, DMK was requested by the architectural team to provide all services related to land surveying, site planning, stormwater management, seawall and dock permitting, utility designs and permitting, assistance with FDEP permitting for activities seaward of the Coastal Construction Control Line and general coordination with the Architectural and Planning group charged with obtaining public and local input.
Coastal engineering, design, and permitting by DMK included FDEP ERP permitting for docks, kayak launch, and boardwalks, as well as FDEP Coastal Construction Control Line permitting for emergency vehicular access to the beach, pedestrian access ramp, and observation deck.
In developing plans, public involvement was necessary to make sure that the end product is meaningful and valuable to the surrounding community. Making Bayfront Park the success that it is.
DMK is proud to have helped complete the family-friendly addition to this park. According to the Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs (FDVA), Florida is ranked third in terms of the highest veteran population. Charlotte County alone has almost 200,00 among its population. It's a privilege to have been part of the project and bring more veteran recognition and appreciation to our community.
DMK completed the planning, site analysis, design, and construction services for the new park entry drive, playground, playground parking, pedestrian walkways, and covered pavilion.
In the future, we can look forward to a kayak launch and a new interactive/educational memorial.
Design, permitting, and construction administration for the new Lemon Bay High School campus, including athletic fields and a football field on the existing 45-acre campus. DMK has been providing engineering and surveying for the Lemon Bay High School campus for over 20 years.
DMK has provided design, permitting, and construction phase services for the multi-phase project through completion of the final build-out of the 3-story classroom wing, cafeteria, gymnasium, music suite, and auditorium, administration buildings, medical center, energy plant, bus loop, and parking areas, which were completed in 2016.
Civil design, permitting, and construction administration for new Athletic fields at Lemon Bay High School. The survey portion included aerial control surveys, topographic surveys for drainage run-off, and construction layout for drainage and the ball fields.
